- Description
- The United Nations Mission in Liberia (UNMIL) mandate is nearing completion, leaving security in care of the Government of Liberia. Liberians are concern of the reformed LNP maintaining security on its own due to continuous occurrences of unprofessional conducts such as corruption and bribery, ineffectiveness, lack of transparency and accountability, committed by past police officers still exist while UMIL drawdown. This dissertation therefore examines the reform processes conducted by UNMIL based on Security Sector Reform (SSR) concept, to establish the competence of LNP officers to properly maintain security after UNMIL leaves.
